Last night I thought "oh, it's only 11:00 I can watch one more episode" then I remembered it was springing into daylight savings time at 2 a.m. and I had to set the clocks ahead and suddenly it was 1:00 in the morning and I had a baptism to go to in a few hours.  Stella was baptized this morning in a lovely ceremony surrounded by about twenty of her relatives during the 10:30 mass.  After, we all moseyed over to MJ's for orange juice and blueberry coffee cake.  It was a lot of fun.

Katelyn and Zack are Stella's godparents and they did their jobs in church nicely.  Heidi brought all her kids but Tucker, who's away at school.  Vi and Andy brought their kids.  Half my family and half of Woody's family was there and all Stella's grand parents.  The cousins had a lot of fun together, as they always do.

Apparently, changing the time worked some kind of magic because it seemed like an honest to goodness spring day out there.  The rain clouds that have poured on us all week dissipated and when the sun came out it got up into the 60s.  I came home and got a little bit of work done, then Katie, MJ and I walked around the lake.  Stella came with us but Annie was at home taking a nap.

I've got almost every window in the house open, letting in the lovely spring air.  It smells so good outside!  Like life and growing things.  This is the fastest I've ever seen this much snow melt in Minnesota.  One week and we went from five foot drifts to nothing left but ridges on the north side of buildings.  Who knows, the ice could be off the lakes by my birthday.

I'm ready for this winter to be over.   I've had enough of it.
